Product Description
The HAPS? High-performance ASIC Prototyping System? is a modular system with multi-FPGA motherboards and standard or custom-made daughter boards, which can be stacked together in a variety of ways. A single HAPS board can hold up to 8 million ASIC gates. For bigger designs several boards can be stacked together using Synopsys’ unique HapsTrak standard.
Among the functions available on standard daughter boards are interfaces to Ethernet, USB, PCI ARM, video processing and logic analyzers. As new standards are established, new daughter boards are added to the HAPS family.
The robust and reliable hardware, together with the modular approach, allows designers to concentrate on the actual ASIC design, shortening verification time by months. All HAPS products use connectors that conform to the HapsTrak or HapsTrak II standard, a set of rules for pinout and mechanical characteristics, which guarantee compatibility with previous and future generation of HAPS motherboards and daughter boards.
With its robust design, designed for high frequencies and high signal integrity, HAPS is a problem-free hardware platform for ASIC prototyping.
The HAPS standard design flow supports any synthesis tool on the market. Also supplied are board description files for Synopsys’ Certify? multi-chip partitioning and synthesis tool that automates the translation process from an ASIC to multiple FPGAs.
